This can be devastating to people who depend on their cars for their livelihoods. It can put a huge dent in a family’s budget and cause a real hardship. Plus, with the rising price of gas, we have to consider the effect on our consumer goods as well. Trucking companies must pay more in fuel costs, and the only way for them to recoup any of that money and make even a small profit is to pass the increased cost on to the consumer. That means higher prices for things like groceries, clothing, and other things we need and use every day.
